Introduction of the DS-Scan II Container Scanning System

The DS-SCAN II container Scanning System is specifically designed for world-wide customs and security inspection departments to combat smuggling, stowaways and terrorism through instantaneous pinpointing of dangerous goods and breaches of embargo. It can be installed at customs checkpoints, ports (sea and air), economic development zones, free trade zones and logistic centers. A single system can be used independently, or several of them can be used in parallel.

The system outperforms similar products around the world with its smaller size, lower radiant dose, adjustable image resolution and fast scanning speed.

System performance

• Steel Penetration (SP) = 200mm. Indicates the maximum thickness of steel which can be penetrated by our digital imaging radiant system.
• Image Quality inidcator (IQI) = 3.0%. Indicates the ratio between the diameter of the thinnest metallic rod detected by a digital imaging radiant system and the thickness of the target. The DS-SCAN-II system can detect a 3mm steel rod behind a 100mm thick steel plate.
• Contrast Indicator (CI) - 2.0%. Indicates the smallest change in relative thickness detected by a digital imaging radiant system.
• Scanning Speed (SS) = Up to 16metres per minute. Indicates the relative speed of horizontal movement between the target and the inspection system. The DS-SCAN-II system has multiple speed setting, the fastest of which is 16 meters per min. thereby scanning a 40ft. container in around one minute.
• Single Inspection Dose = 1u Gy. Indicates the maximum dose of radiation received by the target after being scanned once. The maximum dose of radiation used in the process is equal to 1% of that of a medical X-ray.
